Loren got a reaction from hellreturn in Donations - recurring donations
    Michael,
I am getting more and more requests for recurring donations.
Any thoughts on adding this to Donations?
  2. Thanks

I've been using this for years - it works fine on 4.3.x. Just use the 4.2 install file.

I use this on 2 of my sites and it is very easy to customize to your needs.
So yes, you can create a custom donation method.

Not everyone needs a specific mod - you pay for high quality mods that are supported.
IPS charges (USD) $50 for Blog and $50 Download Manager - they charge $65 for Gallery. Renewals are $20 per year for Blog and $20 per year for Download Manager - $30 per year for Gallery.
I think those are fair prices for high quality mods that are supported. I bought (and renew) all three yearly.

I bought 2 copies of Donation Tracker and 1 copy of Garage - both are high quality mods that are supported well.
I would prefer a system like IPS has - mainly because it would be easier for me to just pay a yearly automated renewal.

In this case I don't think Michael can "make up the difference" by selling more copies - in the end he is only one person supporting many mods and customers. I have seen several really good programmer/mod makers get overwhelmed with support issues - not because their software is not good but because the more you sell the more people buy it because they heard it was "really good" but they don't have a clue how (or why) they should use it. And it some cases they don't rally need it.

In the end it is Michael's decision alone what he feels his work and time is worth. We all choose to buy from him because of the high quality and support.
And, I am one customer that will happily pay for his work.

Loren got a reaction from Michael in Garage Suggestion - Report an Entry
One thing that seems to be missing from Garage is the ability to Report and entry.
We have that in most other user input areas of the site but not currently in Garage.

It would be nice to have and not likely to hard to implement.
    Thanks.

Loren reacted to Michael in IPB3 Garage System v3.0.0
This is the development discussion topic for IPB3 Garage System v3.0.0. This will be a medium sized upgrade with the focus on several of the most requested features and improvements in design and code so it's more intuitive to add vehicles/images/mods etc... Some of the code and design is still IPB2.3 legacy, so this upgrade will bring the garage inline with IPB3's new standards. (Like the recent blog, downloads & gallery upgrades.)

The Garage has already received quite a lot of feature suggestions so the feature list for v3.0 is pretty much all ready but if you have a feature idea, want to reiterate an already suggested idea or post support for a suggested idea please reply below.

I'll be starting development this Monday (25th). And to address something that will probably come up, I can't give any time frame for completion so early on. I'll be updating this topic when I have a finalized list of features. The two features that have been the most requested, linked make/model and highlight image are guaranteed additions.
