Craig reacted to Michael in DevFuse December 2015
First off I wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and to have a happy and safe New Year holidays as well. It's been a big year with a focus on upgrading all my modifications for IP.Board 4 but I wanted to also give a preview of what's coming in 2016.
IP.Board 4 Upgrades
All IP.Board 3.4.x modifications have been upgraded to work with IP.Board 4 and are offered as a free upgrade for those who have an active subscription. There are a few minor changes in each modification, so it's best to confirm before you upgrade.
New Releases
There's been several new plugins and applications in 2015 since IP.Board 4 was released and a full list can be found below:

DevFuse in 2016
The IP.Board 4 release will bring new plugins and applications over 2016. Be sure to keep an eye on our website, Twitter or Facebook feeds to keep updated on each new release as it comes. There are a few major applications in the works that I'm especially excited to release towards the second quarter of 2016.

Craig got a reaction from Michael in IP.Board 4 Upgrade Status
Happy to beta test the donations tracker.
I'll be purchasing it anyway and I've just started testing the upgrade from 3.4.8 to 4.0.5.1 so I envision making the jump around 4.0.6 / 4.0.7.

The following mods have been updated and confirmed to be working with 4.0.0. I've also taken them out of the beta process and they should be ok to upgrade from IPB 3.4 now.
Auto Welcome Donate Sidebar Guest Message Portal Sidebar Poll Birthday Greeter Messages Calendar Topics The Timeslips, Forms and News applications will be available for beta in the client centre over the next several days. I just have to confirm IPB 3.4 upgrade support for them and then they will be ready for beta testing. The remaining Videos, Collections and Donations applications are expected to be completed within the next 4-5 weeks. I'll post further updates as they are closer to beta.

It's available for purchase through this site as an extra download to the IPB3 version. If using the IPS Marketplace, I can still send a copy across manually. I should warn you that the IPB4 version is still considered a "beta" product until I've got a little more feedback.
Thanks, not at the stage yet but should have a rough copy without payment gateways to test in the coming weeks.

Craig reacted to Michael in My plans for IP.Board 4
With some details of IPB 4 announced by IPS, I wanted to outline what are my plans for IPB 4. IPS have already confirmed that there will be changes to both applications and hooks. These changes are likely to cause all applications and hooks not to work. Therefore all my applications and hooks will need to be upgraded. I've put together a list of common questions I've received from previous updates below.
How long will this upgrade take?
Until we get closer to release date, my best estimate right now is 5-8 weeks for all my modifications to be upgraded.
How much will this upgrade cost?
Free modifications will continue as free modifications. Paid applications will receive this update for free as long as your subscription is active. If your subscription has expired, you will need to renew to download the latest version.
Which applications/hooks will be upgraded first?
The first application will likely be the Portal. It's a basic application but will allow me to learn the new code in IPB 4 and then apply that to my other modifications. After the Portal is upgraded, the next mods to be upgraded will be decided based upon demand.
Will any applications/hooks not be upgraded?
I plan to upgrade all my modifications to IPB 4. If one of a mods features are included in IPB 4, I may reconsider whether to upgrade it or not.
Will new features be added with upgrade?
No. As will previous IPB updates, I will only be adding compatibility for IPB 4. Adding new features at the same time, slows down the process.
I'll be continuing to update this topic as I get more information. If you have any questions, feel free to reply or PM me.

Craig got a reaction from Michael in donation tracker question
The advice would be to wait.
RC1 is being tested by customers and will have bugs. You'd be better off waiting until the final release. :)
