Adding content below the View New Content link

Posted by Michael on Aug 09 2009 12:51 AM
This simple tutorial will explain how to add content/images below the View New Content link, similar to how we have it on DevFuse.

Open your Admin CP > Look & Feel Tab > select your skin > Global Templates > globalTemplate

Find:
<!-- ::: NAVIGATION BREADCRUMBS ::: -->

Add Below:
<div id='secondary_navigation' class='clearfix'>
					     <ul class='breadcrumb top ipsList_inline right'>

   					     <li>My Content</li>
</ul>
</div>

Click the Save button. This tutorial was written for the IPB3 default skin, some skins do customize this area, so check with the skin author for specific changes. In our case I've placed twitter and youtube icons below. Example:

<div id='secondary_navigation' class='clearfix'>
					     <ul class='breadcrumb top ipsList_inline right'>

   					     <li><a href='http://twitter.com/MichaelJohnD' title='Latest news and updates at twitter'><img src='http://www.devfuse.com/public/images/twitter.png' alt='twitter' /></a></li>
   					     <li><a href='http://www.youtube.com/user/DevFuseVideos' title='View DevFuse videos'><img src='http://www.devfuse.com/public/images/youtube.png' alt='youtube' /></a></li>
   					     <li><a href='http://www.facebook.com/apps/application.php?id=162719403757600' title='View DevFuse Facebook'><img src='http://www.devfuse.com/public/images/facebook.gif' alt='facebook' /></a></li>
   				     </ul>

</div>
