unnecessary <br /> tag added after messages

I get a <br /> added after the closing </p> tag of each message. I can't edit it out even in the html editor setting.

Can you give me some example code your using and also test this in another area like topic/post. With the exception of parsing, I can't change the how the editor creates html.

Load it into your sytem and see if you can delete the last <br />. Every time I try it annoyingly re appears.

Ok can confirm this as a problem with the editor itself, when I switch it to the new editor should solve the problem. As this is a problem with the editor, I have no manual patch. Will need to be fixed in the next version.
