Outdated Help Files

Posted by sunrisecc on 22 July 2009 - 08:55 AM

As on my boards, the help files were not updated during the upgrade from 2.3.6 to 3.0.1. There is an open Invision bug tracker report on this problem. You may want to add your 2 cents to the report so we can get it fixed faster.

I also created a Invision Peer-Peer topic asking how we can do it manually, if possible.

Never noticed that. I just went into the sql toolbox and ran this query.
TRUNCATE TABLE ibf_faq

Then went into the Manage Help Files page and clicked the Import App XML Files button. And then just rebuilt all the caches just incase. You will loose all previous help files and only have IPB3 help files added.

But it might be best to wait for an official fix from IPS.

It's a know bug with upgrades.

@Lindsey:
I did say that in my report above.

@Michael:
What I did was to do the import and then removed the duplicated/outdated ones. On an new install, I did the Import and it updated the existing files but I only have 10 topics. (board-only install). I do have more topics on my upgraded board.
I only submitted this bug report to bring this to your attention. Most admins would not check the help files.

I too await the final resolution.
