Suggestion

Posted by nonibanacu on 17 May 2011 - 05:16 AM

I have a group of members which have once validated their email addresses but after sending a few newsletters, their addresses seemed to have bounced.
So, i moved these members to a separate group and i want to show them a message, that they should change their email addresses. In this message, there will be a link to their settings page to change the email. On that specific page i would like to make the message disappear.

Right now, i have the option to show the message only on specific forums.
In other words, it would be great to have a field where to enter specific pages where messages should't appear.

Also, i just noticed a possible bug:

I want to limit the number of messages shown to members to only one - not 5 as initially set.
I've added 2 messages, each one visible to specific member groups.

As a member of one of the groups, with the setting in the admin to be shown only 1 message, if i refresh the forum index, sometimes the message appears, sometimes not.

If i set the number of messages to 5 (as initially set), as i have only 2 messages set-up so far, the same member can see the message all the time.

For the second post, you might want to open a ticket for this, I'll most likely need ftp/admin cp login details to take a closer look into this.
For the first post, that's not likely going to be added, I'll be moving the forum options over to select which ones you want to show on rather then which ones to stop from showing. But if you open a support ticket, I'll put together some instructions for a custom edit to achieve this.
