Conformation Email

Posted by Worldoversea on 10 December 2010 - 10:42 AM

Conformation Email after a person submits the form not working for me.

Checked the spam folder, Message should be coming from our server smtp and should also bypass the server spam drop.

Updating status to: Awaiting Feedback

Provided the to address is valid, the send confirmation email settings is enabled. One other setting that the function relies on is the email out setting in Admin CP > System Tab > System Settings > System tab > Email Set-up > Board outgoing email address. Failing that I will probably need ftp/admin cp login details to further troubleshoot this.

The email address of the member is valid.  The outgoing email of the board listed on the settings is also the same as in the contact setting.

All the other email messages seem to come in fine, replying to a post, PM, notifications, etc

Let me know if you still need Admin on the ACP

Yeah will most probably need access to troubleshoot this.

Done, check your email.

It looks like the send confirmation email settings was disabled. (Admin CP > My Apps dropdown > Contact System > Manage Settings > Confirm Email)
I've now enabled it, so let me know if you have any more problems.

Hmmmmm.  I had it set and then removed the setting because it was not working.  Now I tested and it works fine.

You fixed it and are playing tricks on me, I'll know when I move the live board. :)

Btw, where can I go to modify the template and edit the confirming message?

Thanks,
JB

It's a language string, so you can just change the language files in Admin CP > Look & Feel Tab > Manage Languages > English (USA) > Contact System tab > public_contact. The language entry your looking for is confirmation_email_message.

Would the file path and name be;
upload/admin/applications_addon/other/contact/xml/public_contact_language_pack.xml
around line 128

If so I can just edit there, correct?
Thanks,
JB

Yep exactly, you'll have the keyword then below the replacement word to change.
