HI Thanks for reply
The way I was doing is this
I set up new installation in my sub domain and I was going to import Members, posts, forums and other tables need it manually in to this new sub directory. I did not want to use upgrade incase it all went wrong thats why I wanted to see it working in my subdirectory and then move files need it to main directory.
Thanks for your time.

At some point you'll need to run the upgrade so it can update your database with the latest IPB 3.1.x changes. If you wanted to do just a test copy, what I do is make a complete copy of my forum files and database in another directory and run the upgrade on that copy. As long as you backup before I don't see any problems between an IPB 3.0.x and 3.1.x upgrade, they've both been out for a while so the upgrade path has been tested quite a bit.
Keep up to date with DevFuse mod development and releases.

Has no one had this kinda problem before after update?
Main issue is this it jumps back to version 3.0.4 with old theme that I no longer have in admin ACP soon as I click banner it goes back to new theme with 3.1.4 there has to be a reason for this?
Last time I spoke with IPS support I had big argument with them as I was going back and forwad with them. So I prefer get advice here if it's ok ?
All I want to know is why is it
when site goes to normal front page with out index.php it goes back to old script with old theme then if there is index.php after the site it goes bacl to normal new updated theme and new 3.1.4 script.
Or where can I change logo url ? so when logo is clicked it will add index.php on the end
Thanks

here is another problem if this helps
I changed the header logo url to index.php sum reason if Im lookoing at the forums and click on logo it leaves me in same place instead of moving me over to index, php
If I can get 3 locations to go to index.php I dont need a fix.
I need header logo link to go to index.php
I need top navigation link where it seas forums that to go to index.php
and
Above all forums where it seas board name I want that to go to index.php any sugestions how to do that?
Thanks for your time by the way.

HI Again I narrowed down the problem to this tables
skin_cache skin_collections
skin_css skin_css_previous skin_merge_changes
skin_merge_session
skin_replacements skin_templates skin_templates_cache skin_templates_previous
skin_url_mapping
My question is can I replace above tables from current forums with new one and if I did would this effect my current forums ?
Or even better which one of them is more likely to cause this problem from above list.
Basically this is what I did
1. I created new subdomain with new cpanel and installed fresh copy of i.p.b 3.1.4
2. I exported DB from current site to new subdomain
3. I checked all the DB there except for above tables basically I removed fresh DB and only left tables mentioned above.
Now when I went to my subdomain my site is working like it should when banner is pressed or home page is pressed it does what it should instead of problem I described above.
So question I have can I replace above tables with new ones or can you tell me a way I can check which exact table is causing this issue ?
Thanks for any help.
