To avoid people unknowingly adding duplicates do you think you could add a check to see if a video share code like 'youtu.be/FnjKu5g2djA' is already in the system.

I'd be worried about the resource needs by querying the videos table to check if the video url has been used before. This is unlikely in the near future but if you wanted, I can put together some custom code you can add to your own forum. After the weekend should have some free time, open a support ticket reminding me and will put something together.
