The IPB 3.1 Garage System has been upgraded to v3. This version was completely rewritten to take advantage of all the new improvements in IPB3.0/3.1 code. Many new features were added and all known bugs have been fixed.

You can view the latest features and screenshots here: http://www.devfuse.c...-garage-system/

Notable Changes:
  • Option added for admins to setup the garage for either entering makes and models or selecting makes and models based on a makes/models database.
  • Topic view integration added so members with vehicles will have a link to their garage in posts they make.
  • Full integration with the IPB3 member group permissions.
  • Limits of how many vehicles per member and mods/images/comments allowed per vehicle now per group instead of a global setting.
  • Discussion topics for vehicles added.
  • Rating system changed to use an ajax rating system and allows vote changing.
  • Social bookmarks hook integration. Share Links will be automatically included for IPB 3.1 boards.
  • Complete redesign of vehicle images page to display thumbnails of images with lightbox integration rather then a spreadsheet layout of information.
  • Separate settings for controlling global, portal and sidebar hooks. Includes showing latest vehicles, random vehicles or active featured vehicles.
  • New detailed statistics page for showing garage statistics in more detail.
  • Owner selected images, vehicle owners can now select an image they want to be shown when a thumbnail of their vehicle is displayed.
  • Improved control for thumbnail widths/heights with 3 classes of thumbnails sizes introduced (small, standard, large).
  • Full FURL support for the view vehicle page, including when different vehicle tabs are selected.
  • Thumbnail support added to recent updates block on garages main page.
  • Type-ahead search ability added to the manage vehicles, images, modifications and comments pages.
  • Ability to add custom fields into the main tag itself instead of a new tab.
  • Profile tab support with a new vehicles profile tab.
  • Featured vehicles for those who want to feature vehicles on the main garage page. Also included is an option to remove a featured vehicle from the main page and keep it on a separate featured vehicles history page.
  • Comments designed, improved and moved to below the vehicles main tab.

Bug fixes from v2.0.2:

Keep up to date with DevFuse mod development and releases.

Just installed and now my board is down with this message.

Fatal error: Call to a member function sidebarHookTemplate() on a non-object in /home/dzxlgzyz/public_html/forums/admin/applications_addon/other/garage/sources/functions.php on line 125

Seems to be a problem with the sidebar hook as when I disable it everything works again.

Any ideas?

In your Admin CP > Look & Feel tab > select skin, was a skin_garage_external skin group created? If so, try rebuilding your skin caches. If not, this might be related to this bug here: http://community.inv...showissue=17219

Have you removed the default skin from your board? If so, one work around I posted in the above bug report is to edit the settings of one of your skins and set the "Skin Set Key?" field to "default". Then you'll be able to uninstall then re-install the news system and the template bits should be inserted correctly. It seems some boards were affected and some were not depending on the download date, as far as I am aware, IPS recommends you contact them regarding the bug.

Another thing to rule out, did you upload all the files properly? Especially the xml folder files that contain the latest information and template bits.

No 'skin_garage_external' skin was created. I'm using the Cleancut skin which came with 3.1.0 and that's now my default skin so I've removed the actual default one, looks like you've identified the problem!

Would you be kind enough to go over the work around in more details, I'm not sure exactly what you want me to do! Will uninstalling and re-installing the garage (not news!) system delete any data?

Sorry just copied from another topic. Un-installing would remove your data. The installer will need to be ran again but will provide you with specific instructions so that your data is not lost. I suggest opening a ticket here: http://www.devfuse.c...rs/&act=support

As a few have asked this, a readme file is included for upgrading but here are the steps involved if your upgrading.

Step 1. Upload all the files again from the unzipped v3 files.
Step 2. Run through the application upgrader from the Admin CP > System Tab > Manage Applications & Modules page.
Step 3. You'll need to also run the rebuild tools for vehicles and default images in Admin CP > My Apps dropdown > Garage System > Rebuild Tools. As some things in v3 are stored differently. Also if you want discussion topics to be back created for existing vehicles you'll need to run the rebuild discussion topics tool.

The link that appears in the automatically-generated posts when a user adds a new vehicle to the garage is incorrect.

This is the link that appears in the post: http://www.afbforums...__view__id__532

This is what it should be: http://www.afbforums.../532-chevy-z06/

Right now the generated link is returning a 404 error when clicked.

Hi Michael,
Nice work. I've just now installed on my test board & it's looking good. I'm confused about the following though:

View PostMichael, on 21 June 2010 - 04:46 AM, said:

....
[*]Full integration with the IPB3 member group permissions.
[*]Limits of how many vehicles per member and mods/images/comments allowed per vehicle now per group instead of a global setting.
....
How do I make adjustments to those settings? I can't seem to find the spot.

EDIT: Nevermind, found it. Duh.....
