i recently installed the "Font Styler" modification by Adam McDonald.
the problem i'm having is that the fade and such works in topics but not in my shoutbox
the shoutbox im using is "Shoutout 210B4" by Invisionmint
i have all 5 option boxed selected in the mod (topics, profile, private messages, shoutbox and portal)
i have all edits done correctly in the affected files

does anyone know why it will work in my topics and such but not in my shoutbox?

Did you add the shoutout edit for the mod? there is a file edit that goes into the shoutout file. that would be why it isnt working in the shoutbox
