Hiya

Looking at buying the video system but have a question

on the video embedding part is there an opening for someone to post something malicious to it or does the system detect anything other than youtube etc.

I currently have a mod on my current forums to include the html code in the BB code (minus the ID code), so I simply have to add the video ID from youtube in the BB code of the post

[youtube]YHGTF6[/youtube]

Also i know there is the basic rating on this forum but maybe a good voting system on this would be good too, just an idea anyway

Looks great though!

The embed textbox only accepts html that IPB accepts. This excludes code such as <script> and other code that can be used maliciously. Of course no script is impervious to hackers but all mods will be updated with fixes as soon as any problems are detected.

The Videos System embed box does require all the embed code Youtube provides, currently you can't just enter the youtube video id. In future versions, I'm hoping to look at an embed box that only requires the video url.

In future versions I'll be adding the ajax rating system you see in the Garage System. But I'm not quite sure what you mean by "good voting system", can you expand on how you want it changed?

Thanks for the response.

Thats ok then, i was just a bit worried about allowing users to add html, the main reason why i did my bbcode mod.

Uour system looks very nice, love the layout of the video page too!

In regards to the rating/voting system, I was looking for something similar to the "am i hot or not" rating, maybe run a top 10 best videos. As far as I am aware the IPB rating system doesnt do scoring does it? It would encourage members to maybe vote/rate the video and encourange members to post videos too.

No it doesn't handle scoring, mods need to add there own ratings table, I'm not aware of IPB 3 introducing this either. As soon as IPB 3 is released and all the mods are updated, I'll be starting development on the next version of the Videos System, your welcome to submit all yours ideas for that.
