Purchase Copyright Removal

This guide is designed for those wanting to purchase copyright removal for a DevFuse product. Copyright removal only covers the visible copyright tag on the product and no other rights.

Free Modifications
Copyright removal is $15 USD for free modifications and covers all the free modifications made by DevFuse. Currently the copyright removal does need to be removed manually. If you need instructions on how to remove it, please contact us with the names of the mods you would like to remove the copyright on. Please contact us to get our Paypal address.

Paid Modifications
If you haven't purchased already, in the cart and your customer centre you'll have an option to purchase a copyright removal hook. This copyright removal hook is only for paid DevFuse products and will be checked against the forum url used in the DevFuse customer centre that you entered when downloading this hook. Copyright removal is valid for all DevFuse paid products for the url you enter when downloading this product.

DevFuse products from IPB 3.1.x onwards will support the automatic copyright removal with the installation of this hook. For older versions of our software, you'll need to open a support ticket requesting instructions to manually remove the copyright.

DevFuse Support Options

Why Directed Here?

Due to the number of modifications, different types of modifications, number of customers/members and the way some mods are sold (DevFuse & IPS Marketplace options). DevFuse supports some modifications in different ways, allowing support to be prioritized and for your support questions to be answered faster. If directed here, please check the relevant section below which applies to you.

Free Modifications

Each free modification has it's own support topic, you can find these support topics here. Support for free modifications is only offered in these support topics. If board access is required, I'll then request a PM from you.

Free IPB Support

DevFuse also offers free IPB support in the support forums here. Unlike DevFuse products, support is not guaranteed here but will be provided when possible.

Paid Modifications

Paid modification support is only officially offered in the customer centre availability here. All client centre support tickets get priority support and support offered in other areas (pm, email, topic) will generally be directed to the client centre. When purchasing a product from DevFuse's own website, your customer account will be setup automatically. You'll be able to submit a support ticket straight away.

IPS Marketplace Purchase

Each marketplace product has it's own support topic, for basic issues these support topics can be used. But for more complex issues, a customer account on DevFuse will need to be setup. You can setup a DevFuse customer account by submitting your details here, select IPS Marketplace Purchase as the subject.

Fatal error on install

If you get a fatal error when first installing an application, the most common cause is a bug with IPB 3.x that doesn't insert the application templates when installing therefore triggering an error.

Example of this error:

Quote

Fatal error: Call to a member function templateFunctionName() on a non-object in /the/file/location/file.php on line 555

The error won't always be the same as above but you get the idea. Another symptom may be a blank/white page rather then the error. You can find bug reports on the IPS Bug Tracker here and here. As of IPB 3.2.3 this still appears to be a problem and goes back to IPB 3.0.x. Below is an IPS provided fix if you have this problem.

Manual Fix: (Provided by IPS)

Quote

Here's a work-around.

1) Make some skin OTHER than IP.Board the default skin, using the blue HTML icons in ACP -> Look & Feel.
2) Edit the settings for the IP.Board skin. The skin key field should show up, and it will likely be blank. Fill in the value: default
3) save the IP.Board skin.
4) Now use those HTML icons to make IP.Board the default if you want to, but you can leave it at whichever default skin you wish.
5) Go to ACP -> Look & Feel -> Template Tools -> Rebuild Master Skin Data -> select all the checkboxes in that section -> click the Rebuild button.

That will at least get the skin key set properly, which you can check in the ibf_skin_collections table of the database. The IP.Board skin should show the value 'default' in the 'set_key' field for the IP.Board skin entry. If it's there, that should resolve the problem going forward.

If you installed a new app shortly before fixing the underlying problem, and if it's not in heavy use yet, just uninstall and reinstall it. That should work, but if it doesn't for you, please file a support ticket.

As mentioned above, if new install then an uninstall and re-install with the provided instructions followed will work. But if you've upgraded or already have data added, please submit a support ticket with admin and ftp login details as the fix needs to be applied manually and is more complex.

IPS Marketplace Purchase Guide

As most will be aware, IPS recently launched the IPS Marketplace. In return for allowing modders/skinners the ability to sell paid products, IPS takes a small commission on these sales. As I add more and more of my products to the IPS Marketplace, I wanted to make a quick guide on purchasing my mods in the IPS Marketplace and the differences between purchasing through the marketplace and through this site.

Price Difference
There is a small price difference between the marketplace products and the same products on this site. This is due to the extra time required to process sales. Purchases made through my site are fully automated and don't require as much time to process as IPS Marketplace purchases. Once a more automated way is setup, I expect the price difference will decrease. This unfortunately won't cover the initial renewal fee you agreed to when first purchasing through the marketplace. (Unless IPS sets up some way to retrospectively change the renewal price.)

Downloading
Once purchased, the IPS Marketplace handles the downloading of your purchase. You'll need to login with your IPS customer username and view the IPS Marketplace Customer Area to download your purchase. I don't have control over this process but if you are having problems downloading a product. Be sure to let me know, and I'll pass it onto IPS. Current download link - http://community.inv...ction=purchases

Getting Support
Each marketplace product has it's own support topic, for basic issues these support topics can be used. But for more complex issues, a customer account on DevFuse will need to be setup. You can setup a DevFuse customer account by submitting your details here, select IPS Marketplace Purchase as the subject.

Upgrades
There should be no real difference here. I'll be updating both the marketplace and my site when upgrades are released around the same time. There may be a day or so difference, just so I can spread the support load. Example: Day 1 - Twitter/Facebook announcement, Day 2 - Post announcement on this site, Day 3 - Post announcement in marketplace.

But once released you'll be able to download through the IPS Marketplace Client Area. As mentioned before, I have no control over the downloading but let me know when issues occur so I can pass it onto IPS.

Renewals
As the IPS Marketplace was launched only a few months ago, I have yet to receive a renewal yet. So more information will be posted here when I have more information on the exact process. My understanding is that when your subscription has expired an option to renew will appear in the IPS Marketplace Customer Area. As mentioned in the "Price Difference" section the renewal fee will also have a small price difference.

Promotions
Sometimes I will run a special promotion or sale for new products or existing products. If you've purchased during the promotion either through the IPS Marketplace or through this site, no refunds will be offered if promotion not received. Example: You purchase a product through this site but find out later that the product was half price through the IPS Marketplace. No refund for the extra price you paid will be offered in situations like this.

For an additional guide on installing/upgrading and extra resources, view this article here. Please note the support and download sections will be a little different if your purchase was made through the marketplace. You can view all my marketplace listings here.

Fatal error after upgrading to IPB3.1.x

If you've just upgraded to IPB3.1.x and you get a fatal error/php error when trying to view your products admin cp page. Then this is most likely due to a change that was made in IPB3.1.0 when it was released as final. All the products in your client centre have been patched to fix this issue. To patch your own board, you'll need to download the latest files from the DevFuse client centre, re-upload all the files again. If the your product has had an upgrade in the mean time, you'll also need to run through the upgrade script and follow the normal steps mentioned in your products Readme - Upgrade file.

Getting Started Guide

So you've just purchased a product from DevFuse and you want to know where to start.

Downloading:
Your product downloads can be found in the client centre in the downloads area, see here. If your downloading for the first time, the client centre will ask you to fill in a forum url that you will be using your product at.

If your Paypal account is unverified there may be a wait time before downloading that's displayed before and after checkout. At the time of writing this wait time is 24 hours for unverified Paypal accounts and immediate access to verified Paypal accounts.

Installing/Upgrading
So you've just downloaded your product and want to install or upgrade your product. After downloading your product which will be in a zip format, you'll need to unzip the contents and open the Readme - Install or Readme - Upgrade file, which ever one is relevant to you. Full instructions are included and are specific to whether your product is a hook or application, requires file edits etc.. Be sure to follow all steps carefully.

If you need further assistance, free upgrades and installs are included for all paid products. You can open a support ticket requesting this. Usually admin cp and ftp login details will be required to complete the install/upgrade. Only DevFuse products are included in this, other 3rd party products from other modders can't be installed for free.

Support
Official support is only offered in support tickets in the client centre, see here. When opening up a support ticket you'll be asked to provide a summary of a few words in the ticket name. You'll also be asked to rate the support priority, the IPB and product version. Please try to be as accurate as possible as the more information provide the faster your issue can be fixed.

Support is only offered for customers with current active subscriptions and for DevFuse paid products. Any issues you have with IPB itself, you'll need to report to IPS. If you have any issues with our free mods, use the modification own support topic.

Resources (Documentation/Bug Fixes)
If you want to go a little bit further and be an active customer for you product you can also view the latest documentation for that product here and also report any bugs you have with a product here. Often you'll also find manual patches for products that are not quite ready for the next version in the bug tracker.

Keep Updated
All minor and major upgrades will be posted to the news forum here, so in order to stay updated on the latest announcements, be sure to subscribe to that forum. Updates will also be sent via email to the email address you have filled in your client centre here. Be sure to have it updated and the Receive uUpdates dropdown set to Yes.
